Oxford Theatre Guild
Oxford Theatre Guild (OTG) is Oxford’s leading company for non-professional actors. Whether you are an actor, techie, director or designer you will find an outlet for your creativity with us. The URC Hall is our main audition and rehearsal venue. Look at our website to see the long list of shows that have seen the germ of an idea grow into fully fledged productions in this hall. We hold free open auditions three/four times a year (usually November, March, June/September) and rehearse in the hall for about 42 weeks of the year in preparation for our four annual shows. Recent productions include A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams at the Oxford Playhouse in March, 2014. Currently we are working towards a production of The Habit of Art (see flyer above) by Alan Bennett to be performed at Wesley Memorial Church, New Inn Hall street on 5th – 8th November 2014.

7th and 8th North Oxford Brownies
Both Groups meet in our large hall. They write:
Any girl aged seven to ten can join Brownies. Brownies have fun! Their
meetings are action-packed and full of games, activities and
challenges. They can also take part in community action projects,
special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays.
Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards
Brownie interest badges covering many different hobbies and activities
from circus skills to stargazing. Everything a Brownie does is an
adventure – it’s a world of excitement, new interests and friends.

Art classes led by Cathy Landell-Mills.
Classes in the URC hall are given in ‘Pastels and Water Colour’ on Monday lunchtimes and in ‘Painting and Drawing’ on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. For details see my website at Art Classes
Oxford Adult Learning
Classes under the aegis of Oxford Adult Learning and led by Cathy Landell-Mills
Classes in Watercolour Painting are held on Tuesday afternoons and in Life Drawing are held on Friday mornings.
Apart from regular users the halls are often required for special or occasional events. For example, friends from the Japanese community in Oxford have used our premises on occasion over the last 3 years to raise funds in support of victims of the Tsunami disaster in 2012.
