The theme of the service was The Child at the Centre, Sophie Wrightson, who was baptised in the first part of the service, and then the Christ-Child whose birth was celebrated in the Nativity Presentation in the second part of the service.

The church was decorated with posters drawn by the children. A poster of Mary and the Christ-child was displayed below the pulpit and above the crib. Posters of Shepherds and Angels were displayed on the front of the Communion Table.

During the Nativity Presentation children and young people brought forward to the Communion Table images of the Holy Family, of Angels and Shepherds and of the Wise Men.
