Community Use

The church has two halls, one large and one small, which are widely used by local community groups. These are situated at the rear of the United Reformed Church building and are available for booking. The large hall, in particular, is heavily used and a major aim of our proposed Building Development Project is to increase the space available for community use.

The large hall, shown in the photographs alongside, accommodates between 100 and 120 and is about the size of a badminton court. It has recently had a fully-sprung dance floor installed and is now in much demand from members of the dance community. With help from members of the dance and arts communities who use the hall, led by Peter Street, husband of Susie who leads the dance community, the hall has been refurbished and is now in pristine condition.

The small hall accommodates a maximum of 30 people. Both halls contain a piano. A kitchen is available for making tea and coffee and for reheating food, but is not suitable for cooking.
